Recently, a series of laws to combat illegal logging were enacted, known as the amended Lacy Act in the US, the timber regulation in EU and Australia’s Illegal Logging Prohibition Act. These are along the same line as the promotion of legality verified timber based on the prior Japanese Public Green Procurement Act. Including the introduction of these three existing related laws, the 4th Timber Legality Training Workshop was held, aiming to promote the emerging anti-illegal logging efforts by consumer countries and the legality verified wood.
