The Roundtable Meeting on Goho-wood targeting the G8 Summit was held on 27 June, in Tokyo, under the sponsorship of the Japan Federation of Wood Industry Associations, to discuss Future Measures for a Legal Wood Supply System with members of GLOBE International.
The meeting was attended by about 120 participants including 15 members of parliament and high ranking officials from 8 foreign countries, as well as 8 Japanese Diet members including the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Motoaki Okuma, Professor Emeritus of Tokyo University, Chairman of the Council for Tackling Illegal Logging Issue (CTILI).
